It was 1969.
10 guys wanted to organize a regatta.

In a completely unconscious way they created one of the most famous events in the world of sailing: the Barcolana or Autumn Cup, as it was called at the beginning. What did it take to participate in the Autumn Cup?

A boat. Nothing else!

In 2018 the event reached the world record. Guinness World Record writes “The Barcolana of Trieste is the largest regatta in the world with 2689 participants”.

Where to admire it from? First choice: from Napoleonica, a panoramic walk from the Obelisk of Opicina to the Prosecco rock gym, from the Vedetta di Santa Croce, one of the most evocative viewpoints of the Karst edge or from the “Lungomare di Muggia” to witness the arrival at the first buoy.
